Meet the artist behind the captivating fluid art creations.

Get to know the inspiration behind Elayne’s art.

I’m an acrylic fluid abstract artist based in the beautiful and nature-inspiring Pacific Northwest. It’s easy to be inspired where you’re surrounded by evergreens, mountains and ocean! Being a native Texan, I grew up surrounded by the beauty of wide open spaces covered in Bluebonnets and Indian Paint Brushes. I’ve always been intrigued by the emotions that are influenced by the diversity of nature, but in my early life I never considered the possibility of becoming an artist. I’ve always had a knack for hobbies like Native American beadwork, card making and sewing, but I wasn’t connected to those things emotionally.

I began learning about fluid art by watching artists on YouTube. After a few months of watching some amazing artists do magical things with acrylic paint, I decided to give it a try. I quickly learned that it’s not quite as easy as it looks, but working with the paint and the colors felt like home to me. More importantly, I was successful at it and able to channel my emotions into my art. Now I am honored and lucky enough to say that some of those original artists that inspired me have become not only mentors, but friends. Rarely in my life have I found a group of people that are more gracious and loving than those in the fluid art community.

In addition to being a fluid artist, I’m a wife of almost 30 years and mom to three feline fur babies. My husband and I own industrial supply business, where our primary customer is the US Navy. I am a successful writer, and find the process to be extremely therapeutic. Expression in the written word seems to come from a place of deep truth, and I’m always amazed at the final results I may have on paper. I have a deep passion for music and singing, and before fluid art, music was one of the places where I channeled my creative side. Music has always been an outlet for expressing my thoughts and feelings, and it continues to bring me an immense amount of joy. Singing helps me feel when nothing else can.

All of my art is for sale. Part of my goal is to create pieces that are unique and affordable. I am also happy to discussion ideas you may have for a commissioned piece of art. If you are thinking about beginning your own fluid art journey, I highly encourage you to do so! If I can help or inspire you along the way, please contact me. I’ll be happy to give you the same encouragement I’ve received from this wonderful community!
